At nearly 2 1/2, you personality is definitely shining through. Here are the funny quirks you have at this age.

- When talking about yourself, you refer to yourself as "she." For example, if you want to go swimming, you say "She wants to go swimming!" A funny one you said today was, "she won't pee pants."

- If you hear someone coming when you are laying with me in the morning, or any other time you have a blanket around, you hide under the covers. While doing so, you whisper "shh shh! hide! hide! hide!" quickly, and wiggle your way under the covers. You're still for a while, and then you can't take it anymore, and you wiggle and giggle.

- You hate being told no, and when you do, you fight your way into what you want. Sometimes it works, and other times, it can land you in time out.

- You love "snacks" and don't eat much of your main meal. As long as you try it, it's okay, since you're a big girl for your age (in a good way!) and are happy and healthy!

- You only get your beloved binkie at night time, nap time, and sometimes in the car. You still ask for it sometimes, but much less than when this first started.

- You wake up in the morning with a VERY wet diaper, and say "I'm soaked."

- You must go to sleep watching "Einsteins," with your binkie, blankie, and juice.

- You are 32 pounds.

- You try to buckle yourself in your car seat, and if I ask you "what do you do with the clip?" you slide it up all the way to your neck, and then down a little bit to where it's supposed to be.

- You can also slide the clip down and wiggle your arms out of the straps. You get a big no-no when this happens!

- You love to scream. And LOVE to hang upside down.

- today, you crawled into the swimming pool box out in the yard, and just chilled there for a while.

- when I swing you in your swing side to side, you say "craaaadle. craaaadle" over and over, with a little smirk on your face.

- You love to spin in your swing. You love to spin in general. What we love about it is watching you try to walk while dizzy. Too funny!

- You love to lick everything. Including things that shouldn't be licked. Like park swings. Gross! You especially love to lick the surface of the water in the pool.

- You're still a little bit scared of the water in the pool, but you're WAY better than last summer, where you didn't even like your floatie.

-When Mommy dunks you under the water in the pool, you rub your eyes and blow raspberries when you come back up.

- Your favorite word, like most two year olds, is "no."

- We're trying to teach you how to ask nicely. When we ask you to ask nicely by telling you to repeat what we say, (I.E. Jacklynn, can you ask "Auntie, can I get down please?) it normally works and you ask nicely and get your way.

- You do a hilarious fake laugh when everyone else is laughing, whether you get it or not. Also, there was a part on an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, that Auntie thought was funny. Now, whenever we get to that part, you laugh.

- Your vocabulary is amazing, and you can repeat pretty much everything we ask you to. You speak in long sentences pretty clearly to us, though other people may not understand right away. You sometimes talk in gibberish, too. Some people think you are much older than you are because of your vocabulary and by how tall you are!

- Your hair is CRAZY long and incredibly curly. You don't like having it brushed, but you get over it after a little while.

If I think of more, I'll add to it, but this is a pretty big list!

Jacklynn,

Today you met the 29 month mark. In English, that means you're just a month away from being 2 1/2! My goodness how time flies. I love you so much, even though you can throw a tantrum like the best of them. You are growing up before our eyes, and I can't believe how quickly time is going by. I still remember waking up in the middle of the night when I was spending the night, hearing you cry your cute hungry cry...and I would scuffle my way to the kitchen to fix you a bottle. I LOVED the snuggling I got while feeding you. You were like a baby bird when the bottle was brought to you, you'd open your mouth as wide as you could. Then, you gulped down your food as fast as you could, with your eyes closed.

Now, you feed yourself, you talk, you sleep through the night, and sometimes (most of the time) you don't want anything to do with snuggles. But, you have your moments where you'll give in and snuggle under a blanket on the couch. You have a big personality, and you are a definite social butterfly.

All Grown Up

I think Jacky is eager to become a teenager. She's not only developed quite the attitude, but today, I walked in on Jacklynn getting into her sister's stuff (she left her closet open again...). I picked her up, about to tell her the usual "We don't get into our sister's stuff" deal, but then I caught a whiff of strong fragrance. I recognized the smell, and found the source: under her arms. She'd found her sister's deodorant, and put it on her armpits. She must've needed a refresher.

Apparently, it was also that time of the month....she found a pad, and stuck it over her diaper. Lovely. She looked ridiculous, especially in her froggy night gown and fancy boots. She's going to hate me for this when she is older.....I got a picture of it:

The weather and temperature couldn't have been more perfect that it was today, so we took advantage of it and went on an adventure to the Point Defiance Zoo. Jacky enjoyed herself very much, and loved looking at all the animals. She took her second ride on a merry go round, which she can't get enough of! Enjoy the MANY pictures!

What's in a name?

Our names are special and unique to us. Jacklynn's especially. It fits her so well. We couldn't picture her with any different name. Jack is her Grandpa's name, which is where her name came from.

Jacklynn is getting so big, and so smart. She is talking up a storm, loves her please and thank you's, and says them often without coaxing. Even though she is little miss drama and attitude sometimes, she's a good girl, and really, she's almost two. We would be worried if she wasn't a little miss priss on occasion.

At age 19 months, she is nearly 28 lbs, in size 24 month to 2T clothing, and wears a size 6 shoe. Her hair is getting quite long. Hard to tell how long it truly is since it is so curly. She has 12 teeth (four on top front, four on bottom front, four molars [two on top, two on bottom, in the same spot]). She is growing up right before our eyes, and before we know it, she'll be in preschool!

Jacklynn's new favorite word....

MINE

It comes out as "my", but close enough. She whines out the word while bouncing up and down and holding her arm out or pointing to whatever she wants. Thankfully, she substitutes it occasionally with a sign for "more", or by saying more, which is a lot more pleasant than "mine!" by a longshot. We respond to "mine" with a "no, that is not yours", unless what she is saying is hers, actually is hers. If she is being protective of her stuff, then we respond with "you need to share, Jacky." So far, it's not working. But, we'll give it time. She's worked up quite the temper, throwing fits many times per day.

Can anyone help us??

Pneumonia

It all started when a lady at Jacklynn's day care brought her RSV infected baby in for the day.

She said "Oh, RSV is not contagious..."

BULL! Jacklynn begs to differ.

CRABBY CRABBY CRABBY!

As the week progressed, she got worse and worse, with 10 minute coughing fits, endless screaming...so Britt goes and takes her back to the doctor.

Turns out, she's got pneumonia! The doc sent them home with an albuterol inhalor and antibiotics.

After she finised the antibiotics, she was back to her old self....for a time. Easter weekend, she ran a high fever of 105.4 and was limp and whiny. I put her in the bath to cool her off, and apparently the water was freezing to her because her temp was so high, because when I dumped water over her head she FREAKED.

So I took her out of the bath and dried her off. I stuck her in a diaper and she proceeded to cry for about a half hour after the freakout.

I gave her some baby Tylenol and a teaspoonful of Pepto (doctor approved. We figured out her tummy was bugging her because the next day she had diarrhea), and she stopped crying and ate her dinner. Then after that, I sat with her on the couch, and she just layed there pathetically on my lap, and finally fell asleep after about an hour of staring into space.

I put her in one of my shirts, because my mom didn't come home until 1 at night with her pajamas. I layed her in bed and she went straight to sleep. We are thankful she's an easy sleeper. She used to cry it out, but now she just puts the blanket over her head and drifts without a peep.
The next morning, which just so happened to be Easter morning, she was doing much better. her temp was back to normal, though she was pretty out of it.

Jacklynn is growing up so fast! I wish she'd slow down a bit! She laughs all the time now, and is sooo chunky! She's got the lower lip pout downpat. She has been able to bear her weight on her legs ever since she was I'm guessing 3 weeks old. We took a trip to Moses Lake to go quading, which was her first camping trip! She took her first lake dip, first time standing in the sand, and many other firsts!

The day we had warm weather

Let's face it. Weather in Washington is COLD! I know, I know....there are many places that go below zero...but Washington is still COLD! Except for Saturday, April 12th....the day we had 75 degree weather! It was amazing. We went for a walk, and then LaTausha and DaVoughn slid on the slip and slide. I had no desire to slide, so I brought out a blanket and set it out on the shade, parked Jacklynn's stroller behind me, and her and I sat in the shade, happily watching Tausha and Dave slide. Well, at least for a little while...because after about 45 minutes outside, her tummy started to hurt from the bottle I had just fed her, so we went inside. She screamed for about 20 minutes, had a very large vomit (I'm talking she and her surroundings were completely drenched), and then fell asleep in her swing. She proceeded to sleep for about a half hour, and then we all went back outside to sit and relax. When she cried, we strapped her into her stroller and walked her around the driveway. Then DaVoughn, being the tough guy he is, brought the swing down the steps :) What a nice big brother!! She sat in there and proceeded to sleep for another 25 minutes, and then it started to get a little chilly. That concludes our fun day outside! :)

I have a playlist, and I am going to put it on here. Word Update

Our little 6lb 9oz. baby girl (5 lbs. 14 oz. when she came home) is now a big 9 lb 10 oz. rollie polie! It's sooo cute :) That weight was from about a week or so ago I think...so I'm sure she's bigger than that now! They grow way too fast! (click the picture to make it bigger)

Jacklynn has had some issues with reflux..and she's colicky. They had her on regular Enfamil formula, and she was spitting up...a TON. Now we give her 6 oz. of rice cereal in a big bottle with a slit in the nipple, or a 6 oz. bottle of soy Enfamil. She's getting better, but still pukes a lot....at least when I feed her. Not sure if she does when she's fed by Brittany or Ronnie cuz I don't really pay attention. haha! The rice cereal is thicker, so she does a little better with that. Other then that, she is doing well and is such an amazing baby! She laughed at Brittany the other day. We are very lucky :)

On the cuteness note...she likes to fake sleep. You can tell she's faking by her breathing, and if her eyes and lips are moving around. If you pick her up or move her while she is fake sleeping, she'll wake up and have the biggest eyes. It's so funny!

Brittany is going to have her water broken (which wil induce labor) today at noon. She was 4 cm dialated on Monday, and she went in for a doc appt. and they decided they should break the water today! Oh my Gosh!!!

Brittany went in for an ultrasound today, and the baby is around 5 pounds, and she has Brittany's nose, and Ronnie's ears! And as you can tell from the ticker above, her due date has been changed from February 28th, to February 17th because she's so big. We are getting even more excited! Only a month to go!

Brittany is still doing very well in her pregnancy. Jacklynn had the hiccups a few days ago. Haha :) Jacklynn has also taken the liking of digging her feet in her ribs, and climbing up them too. Not very comfortable for Brittany. But, she's very glad she's gonna be a mom soon :) Her belly is now much much bigger then in the professional pics. I'll be sure to take an updated picture soon :)

She'll be 33 weeks tomorrow by the way.

We are having a baby shower this Sunday, it's gonna be awesome! Anyways, I just wanted to update. :)

Brittany is moving right along nicely, she's 30 weeks and 2 days! We are getting more and more exctied, and Britt's belly is getting bigger and bigger every time I see her. Her bellybutton should pop pretty soon. I like to think of the bellybutton as the red button on a turkey...popping up when it's cooked. Though, the turkey button always pops before the turkey is all cooked! Just like a bellybutton. :)

Not much to report cuz Britt is doing awesome! She hit the 24 week mark thursday. which means Jacklynn is now considered viable if she was born early! But she won't be born early so let's not even think about that! lol :)

Grandma G. (mine and Brittany's mom) and I I got to feel Jacklynn kick yesterday!! It was so awesome! I was overwhelmed with joy that I got to feel my little nice kick.....it's a feeling you'd have to experience to understand.

P.S. I now set it to that when I (Jennifer) post on here, my name shows up below instead of Jacklynn's... :)

We made it to the 20 week mark last Thursday!! Yay! I haven't seen Brittany in a while because I have been so busy, but I hope to see her soon and give you a more thorough update! :)

That's what the doctor named Jacklynn today!

Britt had an ultrasound today! The doctor had a hard time getting pictures because she was moving around the whole time! She's so hyper! Pictures to come as soon as Brittany gets them on her myspace so I can copy them from there!

Brittany is 18 weeks along today! Yipee!

Mommy bought me a big bag full of clothes today! And I got some from Mommy's friend Pamela too! I can't wait to be born so I can try some of the clothes on! But I gotta wait a long time...I don't wanna be born too early!

Welcome to "All about Jacklynn!" She is due on February 28th and we just found out today that she is a girl! We are so excited and cannot wait until we get to meet her! Brittany is 17 weeks along with Jacklynn and is loving being pregnant! Ronnie is the Daddy and he has two kids. LaTausha (11) and DaVoughn (12).
